The Stan Marsh Bursary

The Association of Law Teachers is delighted to announce the bursaries for the 2020 Annual Conference

  • First Attendance Bursary: This bursary is open to any teacher of law in the HE or FE sector who is attending their first ALT conference and is unable to secure full conference fees from their employing institution.
  • School/College Bursary: This bursary is open to any teacher teaching Law (in its widest sense) in a School or College of Further Education and is unable to secure full conference fees from their employing institution.
  • Doctoral Student Bursary: This bursary is open to any student on a ā€˜Dā€™ level programme investigating/researching legal education (in any jurisdiction).

Each bursary will cover the full costs of the conference plus accommodation. Delegates will be responsible for their own travel costs.

Applicants for the Bursary must be members of the Association in the year in which the conference takes place and must anticipate attending the 2020 conference at the University of Stirling on April 6 and 7. Applications must be made using the form available here and must be emailed to the ALT Secretary Charlotte Harrison (charlotte.harrison@port.ac.uk) by the end of February 2020 marked in the subject line as STAN MARSH BURSARY.

The Committee would be grateful if you would also agree to write a short report about the conference for publication on the website during April/May 2020. It is NOT a requirement of a bursary that the delegate is presenting a paper at the conference. Delegates who meet the criteria for bursaries are encouraged to apply for each as relevant. It is possible that part bursaries may be made where two or more delegates are able to secure part funding from their institution. Applicants should state clearly how much funding the institution is able to provide.
